So I had 2 months to plan for my lobola and the most important things to me were deco and catering. It wasn’t a hectic journey because my mother did the most for me, finding the perfect catering company and the deco. I only had to look for the tailor for me and my squad. I also asked my squad to be part of it 2 months before to give them enough time to budget for it. Everything was going smoothly, the venue was set to be at my late grandparents house. The only bump i experienced was when i started gaining weight weeks before the day🤣Lord!!! And my dress wouldn’t fit comfortably so i had to get it altered 2 days before. The anxiety i went through planning the lobola though😅 what if he doesn’t show up on the day, what if this or that happens 🙆🏽‍♀️ i managed to cope through praying for the day everyday and thankfully the day came, the service providers showed up on time even the vakwashas came way early😂😂 God is faithful all the time!!

Guys! In downtown Harare CBD 🇿🇼 are some exceptionally talented ladies behind the scenes creating some of the most amazing hairstyles you see on social media! Meet Mai Tanaka (in the brown braids). I first met her when I accompanied my husband to get a haircut by his barber friend “Rasta” Teers salon off Chinhoyi St. Copacabana. So I’d also get my haircut then get braided by Mai Tanaka – she was neat, fast and extremely knowledgeable about hair & hair poducts. Come the wedding I was anxious about how we were going to achieve a wedding look with blonde half-shaven hair! I didn’t want a wig or the usual bridal hairstyles. I like to be different 😆. So we trialled the hairstyle 2 weeks before the wedding to see if what I had in mind work and if it did, re-create the style towards the day. This amazing woman brought my idea to life, settling all my anxieties and exceeding expectations! On the morning of the wedding she returned for touch ups and In this picture she had to literally sew the crown onto the braid as I no hair round the sides to hold the crown 🙈😂. My husband had to then cut out the crown the next day so I didn’t go everywhere looking like Elsa!
